• Intercultural contact – forms of communication between people in various cultures (study visit)
• Inter-human communication process in culturally diverse environments
• Barriers, walls, disturbances, verbal and nonverbal differences, erroneous interpretations of non-linguistic symbols in intercultural communication
• The specifics of intra- and intercultural communication processes
• Basic styles, patterns, forms and types of communication – one language, bilingualism, multilingualism
• The role of culture and cultural conditioning (the consequences of ethnocentrism and ethnorelativism) in the process of communication
• Layers and levels of culture, ethnos, traditions, cultural differences
• Social distance, specific aspects and differences between cultures (based on the example of different cultures and nations)
• The typology of cultures by G. Hofstede & F. Trompenaars
• Communication competences in a culturally diverse environment
• Language, stereotypes, political correctness in European and non-European multicultural societies
