Holocaust History and its Significance in Education for Peace 00-FF-HHS
Definition and universality of education for peace. Justification for global education for peace. Education for peace through the context of historic, pedagogical and cultural landscape of holocaust. Political discourses on the holocaust in pedagogical perspective. Trauma, lives after trauma, the role of fairytales in dealing with childhood trauma. Korczak and children’s rights. Children’s literature is anchored in experiences of extermination.
The course will equip students with EFL vocabulary to respectfully discuss difficult topics and to foster reflective practice in a multicultural environment.
