Stacjonarne studia drugiego stopnia na kierunku socjologia, zakończone dyplomem magistra po II roku studiów.
Ogólna charakterystyka - Dwuletnie studia kończące się uzyskaniem tytułu magistra socjologii. O przyjęcie na studia II stopnia mogą ubiegać się kandydaci posiadający dyplom licencjata lub magistra – po każdym kierunku studiów. Oferujemy ciekawy program kształcenia umożliwiający zdobycie pogłębionej, aktualnej wiedzy z zakresu socjologii realizowany przez wybitnych specjalistów w swoich dziedzinach. Absolwent studiów socjologicznych będzie posiadać dobrą orientację w teoretycznym i metodologicznym dorobku dyscypliny, pozwalającą dostrzegać, rozumieć wyjaśniać i przeciwdziałać aktualnie istniejącym problemom społecznym. Nacisk na łączenie wiedzy teoretycznej i kompetencji praktycznych umożliwi absolwentom socjologii elastyczne przystosowywanie się do wymagań zmieniającego się i wymagającego rynku pracy. Studenci kierunku Socjologia II stopnia mogą wybierać spośród dwu specjalności: Socjologia polityki i problemów społecznych i Socjologia mediów. Wybór specjalności następuje na pierwszym roku studiów.
Studia oferują następujące specjalności:
Socjologia zmiany społecznej – studenci tej specjalności zdobędą wiedzę o naszej codzienności w globalizującym się świecie oraz zapoznają się ze sposobami radzenia sobie ludzi w świecie niepewności i ciągłej zmiany. Sięgając do teorii, wyników badań polskich i zagranicznych oraz prowadząc własne badania, będą szukać odpowiedzi na takie pytania jak: 1) Skąd biorą się nierówności społeczne? Jakie są szanse na wyjście z ubóstwa? Kto odnosi sukces w życiu? 2) W jaki sposób zmieniające się współczesne rynki pracy wpływają na życie w mikro- i makroskali? 3) Dokąd ludzie emigrują? Jakie są zyski i koszty emigracji? 4) Jak Internet zmienia nasze życie? 5) Jak zmienia się życie rodzinne, sposób odżywiania, moda, czas wolny? 6) Co obecnie powoduje rozczarowanie grup i jednostek? 7) Jak „przeciętny obywatel” może wpływać na decyzje rządzących? Jak rządzący wpływają na zachowania i potrzeby „szarego obywatela”? 8) Absolwenci znajdują zatrudnienie w administracji, organizacjach pozarządowych, w ośrodkach badawczych (np. CBOS, Kantar), firmach zajmujących się reklamą (zwłaszcza społeczną), w działach HR, jako specjaliści we wdrażaniu programów społecznych (np. Unii Europejskiej).
Socjologia mediów – studenci tej specjalności zdobędą wiedzę o roli mediów w życiu człowieka współczesnego, mechanizmach funkcjonowania mediów, ich wpływie na życie społeczne i zmiany kulturowe. Poznają konsekwencje niespotykanej w dziejach ekspansji mediów i problemy etyczne związanym z tym zjawiskiem. Będą mieli okazję zgłębiać zagadnienia związane z warsztatem pracy dziennikarza, tworzeniem wizerunku publicznego oraz elementy public relations. W ramach specjalności studenci poznają najczęściej stosowane metody badania mediów i ich oddziaływania, w tym metody socjologii wizualnej, a także zdobędą umiejętność badania odbioru mediów, docierania z określonym przekazem do potencjalnych odbiorców i oddziaływania przekazu medialnego.

Learning outcomes in the area of knowledge. Having completed graduate studies (second-cycle studies) in the field of sociology, the graduate knows and understands in a deepened way selected facts, theories, methods and the complex relationships between them, also in relation to other fields, various and complex determinants and the axiological context of sociological activity; in particular, he/she -has in-depth and extensive knowledge of the place and importance of sociology in the system of social sciences, its connections with other scientific disciplines and of its subject and methodological specificity; -has detailed knowledge of the achievements of modern sociology, research centres and schools; -has in-depth knowledge of the changing ideas, concepts and notions about social institutions; -has knowledge of man as the creator of culture, deepened in relation to social areas of human activity; -has in-depth knowledge of social structures, organisations and institutions; -has knowledge of the methods, tools and techniques of data gathering that allow to study and describe social structures, organisations and institutions; -knows and understands the basic concepts and principles related to the protection of industrial property and copyright laws as well as management of intellectual property resources; -knows the general principles of creating and developing forms of individual activity and entrepreneurship.
Learning outcomes in the area of skills. The graduate is able to perform tasks, formulate and solve problems with the use of new knowledge, also from other fields, independently plan his/her lifelong learning and guide others in this area, communicate with diverse groups of recipients, adequately justify his/her positions; in particular, he/she -is able to use knowledge and data obtained from reliable sources to describe and analyse social processes; -is able to formulate and solve complex and unusual problems and innovatively perform tasks in unpredictable conditions, foresee complex social processes and phenomena (cultural, political, legal, economic), formulate and test hypotheses related to simple research problems by using advanced sociological methods and tools, advanced information and communication techniques and by adapting existing or developing new methods and tools; -is able to critically analyse and interpret texts and cultural products important from the sociological point of view; -is able to prepare oral presentations and papers in accordance with the standards established in sociology; -is able to conduct a debate: argue substantively by using his/her own views and the views of other authors, draw conclusions and create synthetic summaries; -is able to communicate with sociologists and representatives of related sciences as well as to disseminate knowledge of sociology and cultural products and institutions; -is able to use a foreign language at the B2 + level of the European Framework of Reference for Languages, including terminology relevant to sociology; -is able to work as a team member performing various roles, manage team work and cooperate with others as part of team projects; -is able to independently improve knowledge, develop research skills and inspire others to engage in similar activities.

Upon completion of second-cycle studies in sociology, the graduate:
in terms of KNOWLEDGE, knows and understands selected facts, theories, methods and complex relationships between them, also in connection with other disciplines, diverse, complex determinants and the axiological context of the conducted activity in the field of sociology;
in particular:
- has an extensive knowledge about the status of sociology in the system of social sciences, its relation to other scientific disciplines and its subject and methodological specificity, - has a detailed knowledge about contemporary achievements of sociology, research centers and schools, - has an extensive knowledge about the changing ideas, concepts and notions about social institutions, - has a knowledge about man as a creator of culture, especially in relation to the social areas of human activity, - has an extensive knowledge about structures, organisations and social institutions, - knows methods, tools and techniques of data collection, allowing to describe the structure, organisations and social institutions, - knows and understands the basic concepts and principles related to the protection of industrial property and copyright law, and management of intellectual property, - knows the general principles of creating and developing the forms of individual activity and entrepreneurship;
in terms of SKILLS, can perform tasks, formulate and solve problems using new knowledge, also from other disciplines, independently plan his/her lifelong learning and guide others in this regard; communicate with diverse groups of recipients, give reasons for his/her position;
