Information Technology and Society - Special Topic Lecture in Foreign Language PZ-2F-ITS

GENERAL OBJECTIVE:
The lecture presents the basics of IT systems, the impact of the technology on the society and human being existence.

GOALS:
Students will understand the way of creating the IT systems and tools.
Students will gain the ability of understanding the new, emerging social phenomenons caused by the influence of IT.
The students will understand the rules of creating the IT security policy.
The presentations will be focused on following content:
- basics of computer networks;
- data basis;
- distance learning / e-learning;
- ERP systems;
- expert systems (artificial intelligence) and IT security.

Term 2025L:

Introduction to the concept information society – technology as a civilizational factor.
The impact of IT development and digital media on culture, education, and social communication.
Digital identity, the algorithmization of everyday life, and social relationships.
Artificial intelligence and automation – changing models of work and learning.
Privacy, cybersecurity, and data protection
Sustainable technological development and digital ethics.
Social consequences of disinformation, fake news, and informational polarization.
The future of work and education in the AI era – scenarios for the development of the knowledge society.
