The theme is "BORDERLAND / MINDFULNESS." The project is based on three themes: A sign is understood as a letter or symbol. A graphic form with meaning. From ancient times to the present day, humans have communicated through symbols. A gesture is understood as a trace on a surface, such as paper. It is a record of movement. It can have meaning, but it can also be abstract. It can express an emotion or resemble a recognizable object or place. A dream is an individual space for each student. Dreams can contain images, symbols, and signs. This element of dream recording connects with the two previous themes, individualizing them. The student works with a sketchbook designed specifically for this task. They complete exercises assigned by the instructor. In the tasks, the student uses: drawing, graphics (digital and lithography), photography, and collage. The student also prepares at least two proposals for a final term paper in the form of a poster/collage. |
Term 2025Z:
The theme is "Locality." The work is based on three themes: Sign - understood as a letter or symbol. A graphic form with profound meaning. From ancient times to the present day, people have communicated through symbols. Students explore the various forms of signs that reach them every day. They build awareness of their meaning and create their own system of marking and communication. Gesture - understood as a trace on a surface, e.g., paper. It is a record of movement. It can have meaning, but it can also be abstract. It can express an emotion or resemble a recognizable object or place. Locality - locality is an issue related to place and identity. In today's world, the narrative of everyone's global life is collapsing. Students are challenged to define themselves in relation to their individual locality. Using drawing and photography, the student defines what locality means to them. The student works with a sketchbook designed specifically for this assignment. They complete exercises assigned by the instructor. In the assignments, the student uses drawing, graphics (digital and lithographic), photography, and collage. The student also prepares at least two proposals for a final project in the form of a poster or collage. |
