Screen Devices Use by Preschool Children 00-FF-SDU1
The aim of the seminar is to familiarize the students with the subject matter and terminology related to the use of screen devices by preschool children. The seminar will be based on the results of Baby on the Web projects implemented in the years 2020 – 2024. Seminar participants will have the opportunity to learn about the use of screen devices by preschool children in Poland – how many children are affected by this issue, how much time per day and how much time per week children spend with screen devices, what content they use and in what circumstances. In addition, the students will learn: what is the relationship between the use of screen devices and the child's functioning (in terms of executive functions); What causes children to overuse screen devices – what psychological conditions on the part of the child and the parent. Classes will be carried out through the presentation of material (presentations) and discussion. Students will complete tasks individually and in groups (such as quizzes, without grade).

Assessment criteria
During the classes, Readiness Assessment Test (RAT) tasks will be carried out. RAT is an example of a test during which each person first answers on their own, and then in a small group (to the same questions) – the group's task is to establish a single, common version of the answers. The RAT task will be completed at least once as a practice in order to learn the rules. The passing grade will be based on the result of the group version of the RAT that will take place during the last class. The material will only include the content taught during the class
