Resolution of Multicultural Conflicts 00-FF-RMC

The purpose of the conversion course is to prepare for conflict prevention and resolution in multicultural groups. It can also be helpful in conducting classes/training oriented to conflict resolution in general, which is important in a world marked by tensions and conflicts.
During the course, the specifics of intercultural conflicts, their causes and consequences will be presented. Ways of resolving conflicts in culturally diverse groups taking into account cultural differences and intercultural communication will be discussed. Possibilities of counteracting intercultural conflicts in educational and non-educational settings using various tools will be also presented.

Contents of lectures
1. Introduction to the conversation. What is a conflict? - definitions. From group to interpersonal conflicts - dimensions, reasons and dynamic.
2. Culture in the perspective of conflict theories. Cultural differences and conflicts in the contemporary world.
3. Conflicts in the world. International and national conflicts with the cultural background as a reason of genocide.
4. The specificity of interpersonal cultural conflicts. Analysis of conflict situations.
5.Communications and conflict escalation or resolving. Short about hate speech.
6. Cultural conflict in education space.
7.Prevention and intervention in conflict situations in different institution.
8. What can I do? Actions for conflict resolving. Conflict solution and sustainable development.

Methods - simulations, film screening, discussion, text work, presentation, games, problem solving
